Issuance of Cheques North Imenti Constituency

Uwezo Fund Chairperson, Ms. Ann Wambui, in collaboration with the Member of Parliament for North Imenti Constituency, Hon. Rahim Dawood, has issued Uwezo Fund cheques amounting to Ksh 8,000,000.00 to 75 groups as part of Phase 11 of the disbursement. This distribution took place at the CDF offices in North Imenti Constituency.

During the event, Ms. Wambui commended North Imenti Constituency for its impressive performance, noting that it is the best-performing constituency both within the County and Nationally. She also praised the Blossom Self-help group for its excellent performance, highlighting that this group is benefiting for the fourth time with a cumulative amount of Ksh 500,000, representing the highest limits.

The Chairperson emphasized that Meru County has stood out as one of the best-performing counties with an impressive performance, particularly highlighting the positive repayment rate of 95% for the loans applied through the Fund. She encouraged all participants to embrace a spirit of teamwork to maximize the opportunities presented by the Government aimed at creating  meaningful impact on the lives of the people of Imenti North and beyond.

Regarding the overall performance, Ms. Njuguna stated that since the inception of the fund, it has disbursed an impressive Ksh 7.4 billion to 82,363 groups, benefiting 1.4 million individuals across the country in various sectors.

On his part, the CEO, Mr. Peter Lengapiani, praised the constituency's performance and encouraged all groups lacking entrepreneurial capacity at the grassroots level to apply for loans. He mentioned that the fund would proactively connect successful groups with other agencies like KIE for enhanced support.

Mr. Lengapiani also urged beneficiaries to maintain financial discipline through consistent and timely repayments and encouraged other constituencies to   benchmark  with North Imenti.
